The last time, Christian Terrazas had an official bout in Diboll, he came out on the short end of a hard-fought battle in the Battle in the Piney Woods in October.
He dropped a three-round decision to Boxing Pride’s Kolby Vela in a matchup that could have easily gone the other way.
On Saturday, he will be back at it as he fights in the Lumberjacks’ Boxing Club’s Second Annual Tamale Festival Boxing Show.
He will be one of six Diboll competitors among the 50 boxers that will be at the event that features 25 matches that will span all Saturday afternoon.
“I’m excited to fight at home in front of friends, fans and family,” Terrazas said.
He has more than 40 fights under his belt with matches that have been all across Texas as well as other states in the nation.
There will be a little more on the line when he gets to box in his hometown.
“When I get the chance to fight at home, I get extra motivated to perform in front of my friends,” Terrazas said.
Terrazas, 12, will be one of eight Diboll fighters to compete at the event, which will be held at Old Orchard Park.
Other Diboll fighters at the event are Luis Santana, 8; Joseph Terrazas, 9; Jayden Watson, 8; Xavier Lopez, 13; Aaron Terrazas, 15; Hector Morales, 25; and Jose Calamaco, 19.
“I’ve had over 40 fights from all over, so it’s good to get the chance to fight here,” Terrazas said.
