Christians in Action Club at DHS is raising money to go towards community outreach and their wheelchair ramp project! They will have a fundraiser beginning at 10 a.m. this Saturday in the Brookshire brothers parking lot. There will be a car wash, hamburgers and hot dogs. Project Graduation 2014 is having a fajita plate sale on Saturday, Sept. 14, in front of the DISD Administration Building. Cost is $8 per plate, includes three fajitas, beans and rice, salsa and a drink.
LIL Dazzler sign-up is still going on for PreK-3 through 5th-grade. Get your Lil Dazzler signed up. Spots are filling up quickly. You may contact any DHS Dazzler or call 936-229-0675. Last Day to sign up is Sept. 20.

Diboll PTSA is taking orders for fall mums. The 12-inch plants come in bronze, yellow, red, or lavendar. Cost is $12. Deadline to order is Sept. 26 with delivery on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Contact Jan Wilkerson at 936-829-4817 to place your order.
Wall of Honor
The date for the Wall of Honor Induction has been moved to Oct. 18. The deadline will be Oct. 4, and applications must be received at that time. Criteria for nominees will be published in a future edition of The Free Press.
Culinary Arts 2013 Seasonal Showcases are scheduled!
Diboll High School’s Culinary Arts cooking classes will host the next set of showcases in the fall of 2013. The dates are Oct. 14, Nov. 4 and Dec. 2.
The Diboll High School Culinary Arts Class works Diboll Family Literacy Center to share their talents and teach others how to make fun, family-friendly treats, tablescapes and decorations, etc.
The classes will be held at the Diboll ISD Culinary Arts Lab at the High School Room C6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $25 per person or $65 for all three classes, which includes everything needed for the evening. It is a great parent/child activity and fun for other adults who just enjoyed visiting and making the treats together.
The Registration form is posted at dibollisd.com, and then go to Departments, Adult Education/Family Literacy/Community Service Classes. T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library in Diboll invites is organizing “Tangled Threads” for crafters of all ages. The program is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month. All skill levels are welcomed. Please bring your own hooks, yarn, and supplies. “Tangled Threads” will on the second Tuesday of the month in the Community Room at the library.
