The Diboll Lumberjacks cross country team finished fourth in Saturday’s Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack invitational.
District rival Hudson won the event with 58 points with runners finishing 4th, 10th, 11th, 16th and 17th. East Bernard finished second with 73 points, led by champion Wyatt Kieler, who finished the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 27.8 seconds. Lufkin took third with 78 points.
Diboll scored 127 points with Hector Lopez leading the way in second place with a time of 16:41.7. Teammate Andrew Hernandez took sixth place with a time of 17:25.32. Other Lumberjack runners were Steven Badeaux, 18:52.08; Caleb Stewart, 19:22.28; Ariel Encarnacion, 20:12.7; Omar Solis, 20:49.01; Jair Ruiz, 21:17.43; Luis Enriquez, 21:20.87; and Aaron Cantu, 21:55.74.
Hudson also dominated the girls 3,200-meter (2-mile) race, taking the team championship with 27 points. Hudson’s Christina Hernandez won the meet with a time of 12 minutes, 46.11 seconds.
Diboll didn’t field a team, but Reagan Hurley finished 49th in 16:12.93. Elizabeth Delacruz finished in 16:26.36, and Karolina Pena finished in 16:36.24.
