Diboll students have summer meals available
Each summer, children wait for the last bell of the school year. Summer is an exciting time for children to enjoy playtime with friends, a week at camp, or a family vacation. However, for many children who receive free and reduced-price meals at school, summer can mean hunger. Just as learning doesn’t end when school lets out, neither does a child’s need for good nutrition.
Diboll Independent School District is proud to provide free meals to children during the summer as part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program. This summer, meals will be served at the H.G. Temple campus:
June 9, 2014 – August 1, 2014
Monday – Friday
(closed July 4th)
Breakfast: 7:30 am – 8:30 am
Lunch 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
The Summer Feeding entrance is located at the back of the school. You can enter at the cafeteria between the allotted serving times. Signs will be displayed. There are no income requirements or registration. Any child age 18 and under can enjoy a free meal.
Many children in the community could benefit from the program. For more information, contact Kerri Sanford at (936) 829-6262. You can also visit our website at www.dibollisd.com and check under the Child Nutrition Department for more information to be posted soon.
