Free golf clniic
A youth golf clinic sponsored by the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council and Neches Pines Golf Course will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at the Diboll course. Youth ages 9-14 can get free lessons from golf pros. An adult must register the youth by calling 936-634-5753. No golf equipment needed.
Martin Family at Beulah Singing
The Martin Family from Mauriceville will be singing at 7 p.m. at the May 3 First Saturday Singing at the Beulah Congregational Methodist Church in the Beulah Community on FM 58. You will be blessed by the powerful testimony and singing by this family. A love offering will be received, and a fellowship will follow the service. Page Cemetery Cleaning
The Page Cemetery Cleaning will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at the cemetery. Bring a sack lunch, a lawn chair and lawn tools. All graves are marked with family names of Page, Floyd, Harris, Havard, Mosley, Stringer and Young. Brown’s Senior Recital
DHS alumnus Steven Brown will give his Senior Recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, at The Pines Theatre in Lufkin. Brown is majoring in Music Education at East Texas Baptist University, and the concert is required. He will present his favorite trumpet solos and ensembles with Hunter Barrett and Judy Galetar.
The 25th annual Renaissance Academic Banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 12. The event will be held in the Lottie and Arthur Temple Civic Center. More than 150 students will be recognized for their academic achievements. New members of the National Honor Society will be inducted at the end of the banquet. Awards will also go to the Parent, Student and Teacher-of-the-Year. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the Diboll High School office until 3 p.m. May 9. Bus Drivers needed
Full-time and substitute bus drivers are needed. Contact Daniel Zarzoza to inquire information on obtaining a CDL and bus driver certification through our transportation department. Hourly pay rate begins at $17.47/Hour.
Qualifications; You must: Be at least 18 years old; Have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) along with school bus and passenger endorsements; Pass annual physical fitness and mental health exams; Pass a background check on your driving record; Pass a background check on your criminal record; and Own a certificate proving that you’re either enrolled in or have successfully completed a course in school bus safety education.
T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library in Diboll invites is organizing “Tangled Threads” for crafters of all ages. The program is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month.
