Fish fry
A fish fry is being held Friday, June 13, to benefit Diboll Youth Committee. Orders will be taken until Thursday evening or people can take a chance and purchase Friday until they run out. Plates include fried fish, baked beans, potato salad, hushpuppies and dessert for $7. To place an order, call 936-829-5497. Deliveries of five or more orders will be made.

SPJST dance
The SPJST third Friday night dance will be June 20 at the SPJST Lodge in Lufkin. The address is 197 Hughes Road; the time is 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $6 for members and $7 for guests. The band is Glenn Lenderman and Friends.

Scouts steak sandwich event
Diboll Boy Scout Troop 128 is having a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Brookshire Brothers in Diboll. Grilled steak sandwich, chips and dessert for $6. There will also be a car wash for donation. Profits will help fund summer camp.

County Back to School Bonanza
The Junior League of Lufkin and Buckner Children’s and Family Services are beginning to pre-screen and qualify families for the fourth annual Back to School Bonanza.  The Back to School Bonanza will be held Aug 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. At Lufkin’s First United Methodist Church.  The Junior League of Lufkin and First United Methodist Church will provide more than 2,000 backpacks filled with supplies along with other services.  For more information you may visit online at juniorleagueoflufkin.org or call Buckner Children and Family Services at 936-637-3300 to schedule your appointment.

Full-time and substitute bus drivers are needed. Contact Daniel Zarzoza to inquire information on obtaining a CDL and bus driver certification through our transportation department. Hourly pay rate begins at $17.47/Hour.
Qualifications; You must: Be at least 18 years old; Have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) along with school bus and passenger endorsements; Pass annual physical fitness and mental health exams; Pass a background check on your driving record; Pass a background check on your criminal record; and Own a certificate proving that you’re either enrolled in or have successfully completed a course in school bus safety education.

Tangled Threads
T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library in Diboll invites is organizing “Tangled Threads” for crafters of all ages. The program is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month. All skill levels are welcomed. Please bring your own hooks, yarn, and supplies. “Tangled Threads” will on the second Tuesday of the month in the Community Room.  For more information call Mary Howell at 936-829-5497.
